What this converter does
Type a number and the tool writes it out in words, in the language you choose: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Indonesian or Vietnamese. It handles negative numbers, decimals and big values up to 27 digits, and it can add a currency, which is what you need for cheques, invoices, contracts and forms that ask for the amount "in words".
The result is built in your browser. The number you type is never sent anywhere.
Decimal marks and separators
Countries use the dot and the comma the other way round: "1,234.56" in the United States, "1.234,56" in much of Europe and Latin America. By default the tool guesses. If both marks appear, the last one is the decimal mark. A single mark followed by exactly three digits ("1.234") is read as a thousands separator, and anything else is read as a decimal ("1,5" or "3.14"). If your number is ambiguous, set the decimal mark yourself. The "Read as" line always shows the result so nothing is silent.
